Gingerbread Cookies

On Tuesday morning we decorated gingerbread cookies.  The children worked so carefully and put a lot of thought into which decorations to add to their cookie.  Licorice ropes, M&M's, Skittles, LifeSavers, sprinkles, sugar crystals, chocolate chips, red and green chips.... The kids had so much fun and when they were done it was snack time!

Read-n-Munch

We had 5 parents, 1 grandma and 1 big sister join us on December 12 for Read-n-Munch.  The children listened to stories brought from home and some holiday stories from our classroom library.  Everyone enjoyed munching the Oreos. Thank you to Kendall's mom for donating them.

Gingerbread Painting

We are getting excited about our gingerbread unit.  The children worked in small groups with Mrs. Londeree and a parent helper to paint 2 gingerbread houses.  The third house has not been finished yet, but will be posted on-line when it is.  Today the children also listened to their first version of the familiar tale.  Today we read The Gingerbread Man by Jim Aylesworth.  We started our compare/contrast chart.  We are focusing on title, characters, repeated phrases and endings.

Watercolor Owls

Aren't these just too cute?  I love how each owl seems to have its own unique personality!
